Job Title: Marketing Analyst

Reports To:  Director of Community Programs                         Department: Outreach

FLSA Status:  Exempt                                                             Location: Boston, MA

Summary:  Works with management and other analysts to track, analyze, and improve customer acquisition strategies and metrics. Prepares reports for marketing partners, calculates sales commissions and referral rewards. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

·        Data management

o   Rapidly learn, understand, and work with company’s Salesforce database system

·        Marketing and sales analytics

o   Assist in calculation of monthly sales commissions

o   Calculate and compare the customer acquisition cost of different outreach strategies

o   Communication of results across the organization and to partners

o   Set up and maintain periodic internal and external marketing and sales reports

o   Execute and analyze e-mail campaigns and product promotions to existing customer base

o   Assist in creation, implementation and analysis of inbound marketing strategy including AdWords placement and search engine optimization

·        Work with outreach partners to ensure prompt and accurate payments of referral rewards

o   Calculate environmental impact of work completed in terms of kWh, BTU, tons of CO2 avoided and dollars saved for partner reports

Qualifications:

  •         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university – preferably in business or marketing; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •         Expertise in Excel required; knowledge of Salesforce preferred, especially reporting and administrative set up techniques. Previous marketing, management consulting experience and programming APIs a plus
  •         Demonstrated interest in the energy sector, more specifically clean tech and alternative energy
  •         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and business situations.  Ability to respond effectively to highly sensitive inquiries or complaints.    Ability to make concise, effective, and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
  •         Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  •         The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
