Marketing & Communications Manager - NorwayIntroductionThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) works to safeguard the world’s seafood supply by promoting the best environmental choice in seafood through the use of its logo. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries. Through the leadership of our partners, we help create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12 % of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in around 100 countries. Information on the roleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to drive MSC’s marketing and communications activities in Norway. The primary focus for the manager is to develop and implement successful activities to raise awareness of the MSC ecolabel, increase sales of MSC-labelled products, maintain the MSC reputation and credibility, and grow the support for the MSC programme in Norway. The Marketing and Communications Manager will engage with MSC partners in seafood processing, retail and other parts of the supply chain as well as with media, agencies and NGOs. The post holder will develop and implement media and PR plans and harness the power of digital channels. Additional tasks include outreach and engagement in events, workshops and organise training for the actors in the Norwegian seafood supply chain, with the aim of building a broader and deeper knowledge and understanding about MSC standards, in particular the Chain of Custody Standard. The post holder will serve as the spokesperson for the organization as appropriate, and support the Country Manager in Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea Region and other colleagues in their roles as spokespeople. The Marketing and Communications Manager for Norway will be an integral part of the MSC Scandinavia and Baltic Region team, and will participate in the collective management and strategic development and actions of the organization in the region. The applicant should have a postgraduate degree a business, economics, marketing or communications discipline and 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with responsibility for managing and/or operating promotions and marketing campaigns with multiple partners. Knowledge and practical experience of brand, marketing, creative and communications industries, with existing contacts and networks is highly desirable.
