An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Marine Scientist to lead our science program in The Bahamas. Based at our beautiful marine research camp on Andros Island, you will be responsible for running a Marine Science program for Gap Year students and delivering lectures and practical training. Responsibilities include: - Leading the marine science training program for volunteers - Delivering marine identification and educational lectures - Responsible for data collection and management - Assisting with dive training courses - Assisting with the daily running of the expedition camp - Working closely with local communities and NGOs Experience (essential): - BSc in Marine Biology or similar subject - PADI Divemaster or equivalent - Knowledge of reef fish, invertebrates and corals in the Caribbean region - Experience conducting coral reef surveys Experience (desirable): - Masters degree in Marine Biology or similar subject - Boat handling experience - Experience working in a remote tropical setting Start date: 1st November 2018 Salary: Competitive, dependent upon experience How to apply: Please send CV and covering letter to Giulia Poloni to operations@gapforce.org |
