Marine Environment Consultant,Aberdeen, Scotland, UK

My client is a rapidly expanding and successful marine environmental monitoring and environmental consultancy, providing marine environmental surveys and monitoring services along with their expertise in the regulatory processes, consent issues and marine conservation, with clients ranging from local businesses to leading multi-nationals. They are looking to being on an environmental consultant with a marine background to add to their highly ambitious team.   

Core Criteria:
As an environmental consultant within my client’s team, you will be required to have a broad understand and be able to carry out all aspects of environmental sustainability studies. You will be working in the earlier stages of the client projects to rapidly identify environmental issues and put in place environmental management plans, including the eventual decommissioning of the project, providing a full range of analytical services and environmental monitoring.   

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Rapidly identify environmental issues with regards to client projects
• ·         Create and implement environmental management plans
• ·         Provide a full range of environmental monitoring and analysis
• ·         Understanding and advising on consent issues
• ·         Taking part in Environmental Issues Identification Workshops (ENVID)
• ·         Chemical hazard and risk management
• ·         Communicating environmental goals to stakeholders

Education:-

• ·         Either an engineering degree (mechanical, civil, electrical etc) or a degree in a marine related science  

Core Requirements:-

• ·         5 years experience as a marine consultant
• ·         Extensive knowledge of the marine environment
• ·         Awareness of all relevant legislation
• ·         Experience working with licensing authorities
• ·         Strong initiative and the ability to work independently
• ·         Excellent organizational skills
• ·         A broad understanding of all aspects of environmental sustainability studies
• ·         The ability to use initiative and work independently as well as part of a close knit team

General Requirements:-

• Ability to travel
• Flexible with working hours
