My client is one of the leading global solar energy providers. They are a fully integrated manufacturer, EPC and developer of large-scale ground-based and roof mounted solar PV projects. They have subsidiaries spanning across Europe, USA and the pacific region. They are looking to recruit an experienced executive to join their team in Italy. The location for this role will be Milan or Rome.
Position Overview: The Managing Director will be responsible for monitoring all daily legal issues including reviewing, drafting and negotiating sales contract, energy project investment and financing contracts of the Italian subsidiaries of the Group. They will provide supports and guidance to management and other user departments in compliance issues. They will be required to develop and maintain relationship with local solar project developers, project integrators and installers, Indentify potential projects by analyzing project feasibility and economics and oversee relationships with local investment institutes and banks to support project financing
Responsibilities:-
- · Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements; securing grid connections and building permits
- · Project negotiations (with diverse project partners like local developers, IPPs or utilities)
- · Monitor all daily legal issues including reviewing, drafting and negotiating sales contract, energy project investment and financing contracts of the Italian subsidiaries of the Group
- · Provide supports and guidance to management and other user departments in compliance issues,
- · Provide legal counseling and support in employment and dispute resolution issues
- · Negotiating terms and closing deals
- · Ensure all deals meet revenue and margin expectations
- · Manage projects by setting priorities and expectations, problem solving, communicating ongoing status updates
- · Participating in the draw up of bid documents and contracts
- · Evaluating and selecting offers from contractors
- · Initiated strategic move to higher value add products and markets
- · Lobbying with administrative and political authorities
- Planning and organizing of projects
- Full responsibility of the commercial, technical and organisational interests in France
- Profit & Loss responsibility
- Overseeing the entire operation, business management, planning, invoicing, parts procurement and managing the team
- Maintaining and developing existing and new clients and fostering effective relationships with key stake-holders and decision makers
- Direct the support services department’s activities to achieve the objectives established in the company’s Strategic Plan
- Develop and/or maintain and improve business relations with all existing and potential customers of the company
Education:-
- Must have strong educational background (MBA would be desirable)
Core Requirements:-
- · Strong leadership qualities
- · Excellent commercial experience
- · Project and time management skills
- · Must have repeated success negotiating PPAs with utilities
- · Needs to understand permitting, site acquisition, interconnection, project management, deal negotiation, financial modeling of renewable deals etc.
- · Proficient with making impactful presentations
- · Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
- · Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
- · Proven track record in solar business development and growth
- · Good understanding of regulatory requirements in the solar industry in Italy
- You will have at least 3-5years of management and business development and/or sales experience in the solar industry, with an excellent track record and 7-10 years all around leadership experience
