Conservation International has a leading program focused on addressing the marine and coastal impacts of climate change – both on communities and on critical species and ecosystems. A major accomplishment of the program has been the development of an innovative climate change vulnerability assessment process. This process addresses the ecological and socio-economic impacts of climate change around the world through collaboration of local communities, local to national governments and leading scientific experts.

The Marine Climate Change Manager oversees the implementation of CIs Marine Vulnerability Assessments. The manager works closely with CI field programs and partners to develop Vulnerability Assessment projects through synthesizing the regional and local marine management and policy needs, the scientific expertise required to address those needs and close stakeholder engagement. The manger then works closely with the field staff and partners to ensure the successful completion of the vulnerability assessment, dissemination of outputs and recommendations, and implementation of those recommendations through follow on climate change adaptation projects and policy.
