USGBC is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional with specific experience in architecture or engineering to be an integral part of the Certification team.
The LEED for Homes Assistant Certification Manager is an integral member of the LEED Certification team, working directly with a LEED Certification Manager reporting to the Vice President, LEED Certification. Primary responsibilities include participating in the review of applications for project certifications and credit interpretation requests under the LEED for Homes Rating System. The LEED Certification Architect/Engineer will collaborate with senior technical staff, consultants, and project teams to evaluate project documentation, review technical inquiries, and prepare reports and correspondence. Additionally, the LEED for Homes Assistant Certification Manager will provide comprehensive support to a technical volunteer committee and staff leading the development and implementation of the LEED for Homes Rating System.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Facilitate the LEED certification review process including:
administrative and technical reviews and edits to draft documents;
discussions with and providing direction to LEED Providers;
communication—written and verbal—with project teams; and
coordinating as needed with USGBC Communications Services department on completed LEED for Homes certifications.
Facilitate administrative process for and assist with technical reviews of all CIR draft rulings.
Assist as needed with LEED for Homes Template and LEED Online updates and customer service.
Provide technical support as needed to LEED Customer Service team via leedinfo and phone inquiries.
Support LEED technical committees – Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) – with the development and implementation of the LEED for Homes Rating System including:
participating in regularly scheduled TAG conference calls preparing and distributing agendas, discussion notes, memos, minutes and correspondence;
scheduling meetings and conference calls;
managing listservs and Web site content;
coordinating LEED product technical reviews;
coordinating TAG activities relating to the resolution of LEED Credit Interpretation Requests (CIRs);
serving as quality control for LEED CIR responses; and
managing new LEED committee member appointments, elections, and orientation for TAGs and application guide committees

Offer a comprehensive portfolio of programs including technical tools and services supporting LEED products to meet the diverse needs of the building industry.

Provide Council with technical experience and knowledge as a design professional.
Streamline LEED certification processes and procedures among consultants and committees.
Create tools and methods to facilitate communication among both review and project teams, saving time and using resources most effectively.
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelors degree in Architecture or Engineering with 0-5 years of professional practice experience
0-5 years experience in residential home building design and construction
Working knowledge of residential energy systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
General understanding of high performance green residential building design specifically regarding energy modeling, indoor air quality, and material selection
LEED Accredited Professional status preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams
Energetic, detail-oriented, able to prioritize
