Seeking a Small Wind System Installer/Project Supervisor with construction experience and training in wind turbine installation or tower erection. Capable of regular preventative maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators including lubrication and gear-box tear-downs. Perform electronic and mechanical troubleshooting activities as required. Attend regular safety meetings and follow appropriate company safety and environmental policies. Operate, maintain, and manage utility truck and tool inventory. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and work at heights greater than 100 feet from the ground surface. Overtime, Call Outs and some travel required. Wind Technician Degree or similar professional experience required. Valid Drivers License required. Job Responsibilities: • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on wind turbines and other tasks required for wind turbine operation. •Assign work to other wind turbine technicians and contractors, supervise maintenance activities, order parts and services. • Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment. • Assist in the training and development of installation and maintenance personnel. • Coordinate the activities of independent contractors and suppliers. • Ensure necessary tooling and other resources are made available to perform installation and maintenance activities. • Ensure that construction activities are performed in compliance with governmental rules and regulations, company policies and procedures and accepted industry standards. • Communicate effectively with installation and maintenance personnel as well as external suppliers. • Assist in the supervision of the review, development and implementation of projects. • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems related to the wind turbines. • Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components on the wind turbines. • Perform torque checks on bolts using manual and hydraulic torque wrenches. • Perform rigging to lift equipment and direct crane operations. • Operate and maintain service vehicle. • Maintain tools in good working order and well organized. • Write and maintain equipment logs, service reports and equipment history. |
