World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Renewable Energy Expert to join its US-based Policy Program. The expert will provide analysis and recommendations to support a donor-driven international initiative to foster renewable energy and energy efficiency in developing countries.
A graduate degree or equivalent experience and eight-ten years of work experience in a relevant nonprofit, public, private or academic organization is required. Experience with energy, renewable energy, environmental conservation and international development issues are also required. Direct experience analyzing policies regarding energy, energy poverty, renewable energy and energy efficiency is necessary. Experience working with developing countries, governments, and with agencies and donors in developed countries is needed. The successful candidate will be familiar with international development policy including: key institutions and stakeholders and the international institutional and financing arrangements. Must also have good knowledge of who the players are and the issues involved in the international renewable energy and energy efficiency discussion.
Strong analytical, writing, and communications skills, are paramount. We also expect excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well with senior and mid-level Government officials, and organization staff. The successful candidate will be a creative and innovative thinker and problem-solver, have negotiation and facilitation skills, and be able to travel internationally.
