Lead Engineer, Heerlen, Netherlands

My client is a manufacturer and distributer of high performance crystalline silicon solar PV (photovoltaic) solar cells and modules globally. They have introduced innovations into the market which have caused them to become a very well recognised brand in the worldwide market. They are currently looking for a senior engineer to lead the efforts in the development of their solar module technology.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for a strong candidate with solar PV module development and process optimization experience. As the lead engineer you will be responsible for optimizing existing and implementing new processes with the aim of improving product and cost efficiency. Responsibilities:

• ·         Be the lead and go to person in defining process and technology developments
• ·         Support the technology transfer of new process  on to global manufacturing lines
• ·         Assist the procurement team in the acquisition of new equipment
• ·         Coach colleagues and help develop their knowledge of module technology
• ·         Assist in the research and development of module technologies in the lab
• ·         Conduct in depth analysis of the production lines to highlight both positive and negative points
• ·         Conduct regular inspection of the production lines
• ·         Assist HSSE in the design of manufacturing lines and conduct safety analysis for the life cycle of the production line
• ·         Provide key performance indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing lines to assess efficiency.
• ·         Ensure that all activities are in compliance with legal requirements, regulations and ethical standards

Education:

Must be educated to Degree level or higher in Engineering, Physics, Science or related field

Core Requirements:

• ·         3-5 years experience in development of PV module technology
• ·         Experience with quality tools 8D and/or 6 Sigma
• ·         Must have a proven track record in innovating new concepts and implementing them into production lines
• ·         Must be an effective communicator to bring their ideas to the table for consideration
• ·         Must speak fluent Dutch or German and English
• ·         Will be an innovative and competent individual
