  • Do you enjoy creating content that will have an impact?
  • Are you a skilled, experienced, and passionate educator?
  • And would you like to play a part in saving the environment by working with us?

Forest & Bird’s Kiwi Conservation Club | Hakuturi Toa (KCC) is for children aged 5-13 years old. It’s been running for 37 years – the first national environmental group set-up in New Zealand for children

KCC families, schools, and community groups receive our quarterly kids’ conservation magazine, Wild Things, which showcases our amazing native wildlife and wild places, and builds awareness of the issues they are facing.

They also get access to fun, local events run by our Kiwi Conservation Coordinator (KCO) volunteers across the motu | country, and a range of nature-based activities, projects, and patai | challenges led by National Office.

KCC empowers children to use their eyes, hands, and voice for nature through regular calls-to- action, and ensures child’s voice is heard and valued. We currently reach over 10,000 people and are looking to grow and diversify even further!

We are looking for a team-player, who would like to join us to drive our content and communications mahi and become part of our friendly, high-performing team.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) role.

We have a flexible work policy and would consider applicants from outside the Wellington area. The new colleague we are looking for will have/be:

  • Well organised, self-confident, and a self-starter.
  • A big picture thinker, hugely creative, innovative, and strategic.
  • Proven in multi-tasking, paying attention to details, and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent at communicating with children. Ready to hit-the-ground-running as a content developer and Editor of our quarterly Wild Things magazine.
  • Collaborative and open to opportunities internally and externally.
  • An expert in activity, event, and resource development.
  • Experienced in growing communities and building new ones.

  • Interested in interactivity, websites, and social media.

If you’ve got what it takes and want to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
