Full or Part time by negotiation (Fixed term appointment to 31 March 2012)
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of a complex European project. The Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has been awarded funding by the European Regional Development Fund INTERREG IVA programme to implement the 'Landscape and Nature for All' Project. The funding has been awarded jointly with the Parc Naturel Regional (PNR) Des Caps et Marais d'Opale, and 14 other partners from the UK and France. The project has a strong focus on the delivery of joint transfrontier activities that improve cross channel biodiversity and landscape quality.
The PNR des Caps et Marais d'Opale are the Lead Partner and are responsible for overall project reporting and delivery. The Kent Downs AONB Interreg Coordinator will work closely with their Line Manager and the Lead Partner to facilitate project reporting and delivery on the UK side of the project. This will involve close working with all the UK project partners and ensuring that project finance targets, objectives and transfrontier aims are met.
The Kent Downs AONB Interreg Coordinator will have good spoken and written French, experience of complex European projects, particularly landscape design/management projects, and knowledge of Interreg or other European funding programmes. The Interreg Officer will travel fairly frequently within the UK and France.
Crucial to this post is the ability to work in partnership with a wide variety of UK and French partners. All the Interreg Coordinator's duties will be carried out in conjunction with their line manager; the Kent Downs European and Project Development Officer.
This post is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund Interreg IVA France (Channel) England Cross Border Cooperation Programme.
