The Role The implementation of the Sussex nearshore-trawling byelaw has enabled a recovery of marine ecosystems that is only just beginning, and this role offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to play a key role in this rewilding journey. The Kelp Recovery Co-ordinator is a role that will be working with stakeholders across Sussex and beyond to support the recovery of the Sussex Kelp. You can read about the Sussex Kelp Recovery Project and Sussex Wildlife Trust’s involvement on the SWT kelp web pages. The role will sit within the Trust’s Living Seas team, working as part of a team of marine and engagement specialists. Within this team you will be the principle advocate for SWT in relation to the Sussex Kelp Recovery both internally and externally. The Person The successful candidate will be a skilled and professional communicator, experienced in working with a variety of audiences, from statutory bodies, to academics, NGOs and sea users. You will have an aptitude for working with a range of stakeholders and an eye for detail. You will have project management skills and experieince. Most importantly you will be an inspiring advocate for marine restoration and marine ecological processes with an appreciation of both the ecological and socio-economic impacts of marine restoration at scale.
