The Department of Conservation is seeking to employ 3 enthusiastic and experienced people to join our Biodiversity team at the Kauri Coast Area Office in Dargaville.

Duties will include contributing to the planning and delivery of our Biodiversity Threats and Species Programmes through:
* Assisting in all animal and plant pest control operations within the Area
* Undertaking tasks for flora and fauna threatened species programmes
* Co-ordinating the preparation, planting and maintenance of restoration sites
* Monitor the delivery of the assigned work plan, report progress and issues to the Programme Manager
* Supervising employees, volunteers, contractors when required to achieve quality outputs
* The position also involves spending time in the field so physical fitness and a love of the outdoors is an advantage
* An ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment
* Have excellent public relations skills, as communicating with our communities, contractors and Iwi, is an integral part of this position
* Carry out compliance and law enforcement work as required.

You must be committed to achieving quality standards using best practice, have excellent planning, organisational skills. It is desirable that applicants are proficient in computer use, though training in DOC systems will be provided.
