Junior Project Manager Forestry, Mexico, Mexico City

Position Overview:

My client is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated CDM Junior Project Manager of Forestry to strengthen their team in Mexico City, Mexico. Reporting to the Head of Forestry, the successful applicant will focus on carbon forestry development in Mexico whilst providing consultancy mandates throughout Latin America.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Maintaining good client relationships and interacting with project developers
• ·         Working on Forestation and REDD+ projects including Due Diligence, Baseline development, PDD development, preparation for validation, monitoring and verification
• ·         Interacting with project developers and maintaining good client relationships
• ·         Providing distinctive consultancy services to clients in the area of forest carbon, nature conservation and ecosystem services
• ·         Preparing validation and verification of projects
• ·         Proactively source new business.

Education:-

• ·         A degree in forestry, environmental sciences, renewable energy or mechanical/electrical/civil engineering

Core Requirements:-

• 1-3 years experience working in CDM

• ·         Understanding of sampling techniques and statistical analyses in forest (carbon) monitoring, due diligence and/or field assessment in forest carbon projects
• ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• ·         Strong technical skills and experience in, or familiarity with the energy, waste or industrial sectors
• ·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• ·         Basic understanding of the CDM/VER project cycle
• ·         Work experience in Latin America a plus
