You'll be responsible as part of a Team for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring that users get maximum benefits from them. Individual tasks vary depending needs. Since JNCC has a small IT team the work will be varied and expansive across multiple technologies. • install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications • monitor and maintain computer systems and networks • talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues • troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults • replace hardware parts as required on laptops and servers • provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports • support the roll-out of new applications • set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues • respond within agreed time limits to technical calls logged through the IT help desk system, • work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate) • prioritise and manage many open cases at one time • rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers • test and evaluate new technology • Participate in projects that deliver new services either on-premises and in the Office 365 environment . • Liaise between Information Management and IT to support technical delivery of the Microsoft 365 roll out project. • Work closely with the information management specialist to support information management requirements within the Microsoft 365 environment. • Support staff as JNCC embarks on new ways of working within the Microsoft 365 environment ResponsibilitiesTo be a successful candidate you will have:• 1-2 Years’ experience of working in an IT department and preferably in a help environment • A general understanding of data management principles in terms of data lifecycle BehavioursWe'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
