In the Pacific, BirdLife is working to secure Pacific Island birds and other native biodiversity by addressing key threats. Of these, invasive alien species are a leading cause of biodiversity loss also, effecting livelihoods and the Pacific way of life. In response, the BirdLife Partnership is taking an integrated approach to managing invasive species, to benefit Island biodiversity, the lives and livelihoods of people and strengthening climate resilience in an equitable and socially inclusive way. • Developing strategies for species translocation and habitat restoration to address conservation priorities across the Pacific.
  • Building the capacity of BirdLife Partners and other stakeholders in IAS management, habitat restoration, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL).
  • Providing technical leadership in developing and implementing plans for IAS eradication, biodiversity restoration, and biosecurity measures while overseeing threatened species recovery.
