Internship in Brazil - Environmental protection institute

GoBrazil offers an internship placement at its partner organization Instituto do Meio Ambiente (IMA)
in Maceió, Brazil. IMA promotes research, conservation and protection of the fauna and flora of the
state Alagoas through various projects. The scope of possible intern tasks is diversified. Depending on
the field of studies and focus of interest trainee can take part in various environmental projects. The
internship should be at least over a period of 1-3 months (maximum 6 months) and can be started
immediately. 
Tasks:
Participation in one of the current projects and researches:

• Construction of herbarium of the northeast region of Brazil
• Conservation of the forests of Alagoas,
• Monitoring of coast region
• Preservation of sweet water sources
• Environmental education for school children
• Preservation of flora and fauna of lagoons of Alagoas

Profile:
- Good knowledge of Portuguese (or language course on site)
- Study focus: Biology, Geography, Ecology, and Geology
- Committed, reliable, positive attitude
