Description

International Programme Funding Adviser
Salary:  £31,928 (fixed term contract until March 2011)

Based near Rugby

For over 40 years Practical Action has been working closely with some of the world’s poorest people - using simple technology to fight poverty and transform their lives for the better.

To support this work we need to raise a considerable amount of restricted funding:   Practical Action's international team of fundraisers raise over £10m per year from institutional donors around the world.

Our Programme Funding Unit is looking for an experienced and skilled fundraiser with excellent working knowledge of institutional donors, particularly Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund.  You will be responsible for managing and maximising the relationships with these two key donors amongst others, and experience of pro-actively and effectively researching and developing relationships with new ones (for example, some European trusts and foundations as well as bilateral donors).

As part of a team of five, you will also have responsibility for providing support with the development of funding applications and reports for a variety of institutional donors, supporting and building the fundraising capacity of colleagues internationally, and contribute to our organisational learning and sharing.

You must be a self-starter, with excellent team working, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.

In return, we can offer flexible and family-friendly working conditions in a beautiful rural location, a stakeholder pension scheme, life assurance and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and creative international team.
