Our primary role is advising all four Governments of the UK. With most of our work being within Government, our public profile is low but our impact is high. Job descriptionPost Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to: • Provide overall strategic and technical leadership for JNCC’s delivery of overseas technical assistance work on MPAs • Communicate and collaborate effectively with key staff across Cefas, the MMO and Defra in the first instance to ensure technical assistance delivery is well aligned to policy and technical priorities • Effectively manage a small team of staff dedicated to the delivery of overseas technical assistance work on MPAs, facilitating opportunities for staff development and progression • Perform Grade 7 level corporate responsibilities within JNCC, including (but not limited to) financial management, team leadership, corporate planning and servicing requests from our Executive Leadership Team comprising JNCC’s Directors and our CEO • Ensure cohesion of our MPA work with the wider international marine portfolio of work that JNCC delivers through our International Advice and International Implementation Teams and with progress of our work on MPAs domestically within the UK ResponsibilitiesPlease see the technical skills area:BehavioursWe'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
