Role Profile

We are looking for an International Finance Business Partner Manager to lead the UK-based International Finance Team and working closely with the Conservation and Policy Directorate operations team. The successful candidate will report into the Head of Finance and will ensure that ZSL’s finance strategy and policies are implemented across ZSL international operations.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that appropriate accounting systems, policies and procedures are developed for operation and that these are rolled out effectively including;
    • Production of monthly management accounts for the Senior Management team, with detailed breakdowns for each Conservation programme.
    • Establishment of country / programme reporting and forecasting tools that keeps the restricted pipeline information up to date so that cost recoveries can be tracked.
    • Development of the annual departmental budget
  • Working with the Head of International Operations, country finance teams and Country Managers in overseas offices ensure that the control environment and processes are robust and financial reporting and budgeting is up to date, accurate and understood; and
  • Providing effective assurance to ZSL’s senior management that financial management is operated effectively in ZSL’s country offices.
  • Building a trusted relationship with senior stakeholders in C&P both in the UK and overseas to ensure appropriate financial business partnering, supporting and advising on financial matters.
  • Supporting the International Finance team to deliver accurate and timely reporting to donors and all other stakeholders
  • Building and improving systems to deliver the above, liaising with CP, IT and ZSL and in-country finance as required

Person Specification

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with extensive accounting and project management experience.
  • Professional post graduate accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • Experience in managing largescale bilateral or multilateral grants and associated knowledge of donor reporting requirements.
  • Experience of successfully leading, managing and motivating a team
  • Good project management and systems development experience
  • Experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting.
