WSPA is a leading international animal welfare charity with offices in fifteen countries. Its vision is a world where animal cruelty has ended world wide and its mission is to focus on a number of priority issues which are: humane and sustainable agriculture; inhumane culling of dogs (mostly associated with rabies control in the developing world); animals in disasters; captive bears; forgotten (small) whales and trade in live wildlife. Effective communications is a challenge for an international charity and the role of International Communications Director (ICD) is central to meeting that challenge. Every WSPA office contributes to a single global strategy and requires support and guidance on the best way of doing that whether in relation to our programmes work, our fundraising or, in this case, WSPA’s communications. The WSPA Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and, through them, the International Board of Trustees need to know that the investment in communications is delivering measurable results against a clear strategy and related objectives and it falls to the International Communications Team led by the ICD - and working for the SLT through the Deputy CEO/International Director of Fundraising & Communications to - lead on that. The International Communications Department is structured as three teams each with a Head reporting to the ICD (refer to the information below) |
