Oriau gwaith: Amser llawn (37.5 awr). Bydd y swydd hon yn gofyn am weithio y tu allan i oriau gwaith 9am – 5pm, dydd Llun – dydd Gwener (dechrau’n gynnar, gorffen yn hwyr, ac ambell waith gyda’r nos / ar y penwythnos). Bydd y swydd hon yn gofyn am weithio helaeth y tu allan gyda chyswllt uniongyrchol â’r tywydd. Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn derbyn yr holl gyfarpar diogelu personol angenrheidiol fel rhan o’i interniaeth (e.e. dillad glaw, menig gwaith ac esgidiau gwaith)

Trosolwg o’r rôl:? 

Mae rhaglen interniaeth Pysgotwr Ifanc Prosiect SIARC yn cynnig cyfle datblygu unigryw i gael cipolwg a phrofiad o fywyd gwaith ar arfordir a môr Cymru. Mae’r rhaglen interniaeth hon yn rhaglen beilot ac mae un swydd ar gael. Nod y rhaglen yw mynd i’r afael â rhwystrau i ennill profiad (e.e. cost y cymwysterau ac offer gofynnol, mynediad at gyfleoedd hyfforddi a dysgu) a wynebir gan unigolion sydd am ddatblygu gyrfa yn y sector morwrol ymhellach. Rydym yn croesawu pob ymgeisydd ac yn enwedig ymgeiswyr a fyddai’n elwa o’r cyfleoedd y mae’r rhaglen interniaeth hon yn eu darparu, sy’n gynnar yn eu taith gyrfa ac sy’n awyddus i ennill profiadau a sgiliau newydd, neu sy’n cael eu hystyried yn unigolion ifanc (18 – 24 oed) ac sy’n chwilio am hyfforddiant pellach, addysg neu gyflogaeth*. Ar ben hynny, rydym yn annog pob ymgeisydd i adlewyrchu unrhyw brofiad personol o fyw a/neu weithio yng Nghymru (gan gyfeirio’n benodol at Ynys Môn, Conwy a Gwynedd oherwydd lleoliad yr interniaeth) a’u cysylltiadau amlwg eu hunain ag arfordir Cymru a’r môr yn eu ceisiadau. Bydd yr interniaeth yn cynnwys amrywiaeth o leoliadau gydag unigolion a sefydliadau lleol sy’n gweithio yn y sector morol ar draws Gogledd Cymru. Bydd gan yr intern hyblygrwydd i archwilio cyfleoedd eraill trwy gydol yr interniaeth ac i ddilyn maes diddordeb yn fwy manwl.

  • Hwyluso cyfnewid gwybodaeth dwyffordd rhwng yr intern a gweithwyr proffesiynol sefydledig y diwydiant  
  • Creu cyfle ar gyfer dysgu rhwng cenedlaethau o fewn y sector morol yng Nghymru

Salary: £12.60 per hour (UK Real Living Wage) plus pension contribution 

Working hours: Full Time (37.5 hours) This post will require work outside of 09:00 – 17:00, Monday – Friday work hours (early starts, late finishes and occasional evening/weekend work). This post will require extensive outside working with direct exposure to the weather. The successful candidate will receive all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as part of their internship (e.g. waterproofs, work gloves and work boots) 

Contract period and start date: Fixed Term contract for 6 months starting between April-June 2025, where applicants are still in education and finishing spring exams it is possible to undertake induction activities in the Easter Break and then start full time in June 

Location: The successful candidate will need to be based in Gwynedd, Conwy or Anglesey, there will not be provisions for covering the cost of relocation 
 
Overview of the role:

The Project SIARC Young Fisher internship programme offers a unique development opportunity to gain insight into, and experience of, working life on the Welsh coast and sea. This internship programme is a pilot programme and 1 post is available. The programme aims to address barriers to gaining experience (e.g. cost of required qualifications and equipment, access training and learning opportunities) faced by individuals looking to further develop a career in the maritime sector. We welcome all applicants and particularly candidates who would benefit from the opportunities this internship programme provides, are early in their careers and looking to gain new experiences and skills or are considered young (18 – 24 years old) and seeking further training, education or employment*. Furthermore, we encourage all applicants to reflect any personal lived experience of living and or working in Wales (with particular reference to Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd due to the location of where the internship will be based) and their own demonstrable connections to the Welsh coast and sea in their applications. The internship will consist of a variety of placements with local individuals and organisations working in the maritime sector across North Wales. The intern will have flexibility to explore other opportunities throughout the duration of the internship and to pursue an area of interest in more detail. 

* Milestone 22 of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act -  Percentage of people in education, employment or training: At least 90% of 16-24 year olds will be in education, employment, or training by 2050  

Purpose of the programme:? 
  • To create an opportunity for someone looking to further develop a diverse range of skills relevant to fishing heritage, the wider maritime sector and scientific techniques
  • To introduce the successful candidate to the diversity of opportunities which the maritime sector encompasses
  • To address barriers faced by individuals looking to develop their future careers and further develop their employability, relevant to the maritime sector in Wales
  • To facilitate two-way knowledge exchange between the intern and established industry professionals 
  • To create an opportunity for intergenerational learning within the maritime sector in Wales

Essential
  • Willingness to learn Welsh and work in a bilingual team
  • Some form of sea-going experience
