RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The Freshwater Initiative is looking for a communications or graphic design intern with about 2 years of classes behind them to gain experience in graphic design, website development and management, and photo editing and management. The Freshwater Climate Change Communications Intern will work with the Director of Freshwater Climate Change and Manager of the Freshwater Initiative to build and manage content for a site specifically targeted at individuals working on climate change adaptation issues and water management. He/she will also be instrumental in building the social media presence for this site and sharing new content with other bloggers and sites geared towards climate change adaptation. Projects include creating graphics for video, video editing, map creation in Illustrator, creating infographics for the division's blog, and pulling visual assets for freshwater climate change adaptation related stories.
 
The skills acquired will be increased knowledge about news, trends and approaches connecting climate change adaptation and water resource management as well as experience managing and contributing content to a website. The goal is to build the intern’s capacity to disseminate information about adaptation and empower him/her to be a confident communicator and adaptation practitioner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with basic html and website management
