RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn alongside CI’s dynamic visual resources team. The intern will work with the web team and the South Africa Programme to develop and manage a process to create a website for the South Africa Programme as part of their readiness for the Conference of Parties to be held in Durban in December 2011.
  • The intern will design and implement the Conservation South Africa Website linked to the CI site to be completed 15 November 2011. 
  • The intern will work with the Web Coordinator to design and finalize the site map for the site by 20 September 2011. The intern will co-ordinate the gathering of content by the 15 October and will upload all content and visuals by 30 October. The intern will also coordinate a process for review for completion by 15th November 2011. 
  • The intern will be based in Washington DC and will work with a team from South Africa, The Senior Manager for Communications & Operations and the Communications Co-ordinator as well as with the web team in Washington DC. The intern will be provided an office space in CI’s Arlington Office and a laptop has been sourced for his/her use during this internship.
 
Working Conditions: 
  • This position is based in Conservation International’s Headquarters in Arlington, VA and will work with a team from South Africa, the Senior Manager for Communications and Operations and the Communications Coordinator as well as with the web team in CI-HQ.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required: 
  • Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree.
  • Familiarity with basic html and website management.
