The intern will join a team of researchers who analyze future electricity scenarios utilizing capacity expansion models. Specifically, these models will be altered to incorporate water resources as a constraint to future electricity power plant build-outs. The specific project involves compiling water resource data, implementing modifications to the models to incorporate different cooling system technologies and water resources, and analyzing results. Authorship of reports or subsequent papers is possible depending on depth of contribution. This project will last through the Spring 2012 semester, or longer is possible depending on interest and performance.
