Description
The Knowledge for Growth (KfG) and the Information Society units of JRC-IPTS have a vacancy for a senior scientist in its Industrial Research and Innovation (IRI) and in "Role of ICT industry in the evolving Knowledge Economy" (ICT IN) actions. These actions elaborate on common issues of R&D, innovation, economic growth and competitiveness.The successful candidate will work on the economic analysis of corporate R&D and Innovation in the energy and ICT sectors and their implication for EU policy. He/she should be able to review the literature and to carry out statistical and economic analyses and provide policy advice. He/She will be required to produce, in collaboration with other scientists, policy briefs, scientific publications and/or working papers. He/she would also be required to guide in-house and subcontracted work and to make public presentations in a variety of settings.He/she must be an experienced researcher with a proven track record in industrial R&D and innovation at sector level, with deep knowledge of industrial economics, statistics and/or corporate finance and accounting.  The senior scientist must have at the time of applying a minimum of 10 years research experience at the post-doctoral level, or a minimum of 15 years research experience after the first university degree giving access to doctoral studies (which may include periods of training such as a master's degree) in a field relevant to the position advertised. A very good level of written and spoken English is essential and knowledge of at least one other EU language is compulsory.

In the case more than one suitable candidate is identified in the call, a reserve list with validity for one year will be drawn up with a view to fill possible future vacancies within the framework of this project.
