Hydro-Energy Engineer

A large engineering consultancy in line with its continued growth in the renewable energy sector now needs to recruit a Hydro Energy Engineer. You will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a number of years direct energy experience covering:
• Initial site identification/flow head and energy yield analysis.
• Feasibility studies on pump storage and run of river projects.
• Review of hydro data and production estimates.
• Review and site investigation of geotechnical properties and civil works.
• Experience of civils design including penstocks/inlet works/powerhouse etc.
• Experience of electrical design, network planning and connection to grid.
• Experience in turbine selection matching system requirements.
• Commercial understanding of project lifecycle and consultant’s various roles within that lifecycle.
