Description

We are seeking a qualified electrical engineer for the position as an HV electrical engineer for our Walney Offshore Wind Farm.

In the beginning you will work on the construction project as a commissioning engineer - both during construction of the offshore substation in Denmark and commissioning on site in Barrow-in-Furness.

When the wind farm goes into operation, you will work as a SAP and HV engineer in the O&M team in Barrow-in-Furness.

Areas of responsibility
Your work will comprise management of electrical systems, including HV and LV equipment. You are the commissioning engineer for the construction project (electrical part), and you are the Senior Authorised Person for the HV installation on onshore and offshore substations and wind turbines. In addition to that, you will be manager for a small group of electrical service technicians.

Furthermore, your primary tasks are to:

  • plan maintenance of HV equipment at all DONG Energy Offshore Wind Farms in the UK
  • carry out daily technical management and repair of electrical components ie, substation, cables and wind turbines
  • perform safety work both at a practical and a high level in collaboration with our Safety Advisor
  • plan service and maintenance work with our technical team in Denmark.

You may be required to work flexible hours.

Your profile
You have an Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent strong hands-on experience with HV equipment obtained through commissioning of HV equipment. Additionally, you have work experience from power stations, utilities or offshore wind farms. It is also essential that you can show a good track record of technical and management experience.

Furthermore, you must be prepared to work in Denmark for a period during the construction project and enter into a scheduled training programme with a stay of approximately 3-9 months in our Danish headquarters and on a Danish offshore wind farm. You will go through training and education as a Senior Authorised Person in HV equipment if you have not already been working as SAP.

You are able and willing to work offshore and gain and maintain hands-on experience and you thrive on teamwork.

We offer
We offer a challenging job with substantial freedom and responsibility, and you will have the opportunity to work both for the construction and the further operation of the wind farm.

Through your work, many options are open to you eg, you have the possibility of having an impact on the future of our business and on contributing to the implementation of a very ambitious internationalisation strategy.

As one of our employees you have a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package. You have good opportunities to develop new competences in a large organisation. We have an active employee policy, which supports your career throughout the various phases of your working life.
