HSSE(Health Safety Security Environment) Engineer, Southern, Italy

My client is amongst  the leading renewable energy providers globally and have a very strong business plan and balance sheet. They specialize in the manufacturing of crystalline silicon modules and are also a leading residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV developer with a strong market presence in Europe, the USA and the Asia-Pacific regions. As they operate and maintain (O&M) a number of projects in the European and US market they are looking to recruit  a senior construction project safety specialist for photovoltaic projects in Southern Italy.  The HSSE Engineer will be responsible for overseeing risk assessment of project activities and reviewing of safety plans.

Core Criteria:
My client is seeking a HSSE Engineer who has a strong background in experience in construction safety of residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects.

Responsibilities:-

• Risk assessment of project activities  
• Reviewing safety plans
• Reviewing contractor safety plans and documents
• Interviewing key project persons to ensure their safety capabilities
• Safety data collection and reporting
• Safety auditing of construction sites
• Implementing site safety processes to achieve high safety performance
• Implementing processes to achieve a strong reporting culture of near misses and other unsafe conditions
• Assist in implementation of Lean techniques for reducing the man-hours required to install solar modules

Requirements:-

• Minimum 3 years experience in construction safety
• Experience on Solar PV is preferred
• Ability to influence and achieve strong safety culture in construction safety
• Must be fluent in Italian and have good English language skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and detecting realistic solutions
