Description

We are seeking an HSE Manager to join our team based in Barrow in Furness.

You must anticipate visits to offshore wind turbines using transfer boats and to our other wind farms in Europe as well as meetings in Denmark.  

Areas of responsibility
Your job is to contribute to establish a safe and effective site where planning and performance of work activities allow us to take precautions against accidents, incidents, wear and defects.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • provide advice and guidance to the operations managers for our wind farms on the western side of Great Britain
  • prepare procedures and perform vessel audits
  • monitor the performance of our workforce and contractors
  • approve risk assessments and method statements
  • prepare contingency plans, reports and perform audits according to our QHSE management system
  • be the CDM coordinator for works subject to the CDM Regulations.

Your profile
You have a relevant technical education accredited by a professional institution, eg as an electrical or mechanical engineer, or be of an equivalent level of competence.

You should either have acquired chartered membership of IOSH or have a NEBOSH General Certificate or be willing to work to achieve those standards. You must also have at least three years of experience within the field of industrial or offshore environment.

You must be capable of acquiring

  • an ENG 1 or UKOOA medical certificate
  • a seafarers PST or UKOOA survival certificate
  • an OPITO accredited BWEA wind turbine climbing certificate.

It is essential that you have excellent communication skills as you will be handling our contacts to the authorities, trade groups and international partners.
