Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Effective customer service to acquire and maintain guests by anticipating, meeting and exceeding the guest’s expectations. • Co-ordinating, planning and evaluation of functional areas within the camp to ensure a business focus as well as compliance to standards, systems and procedures. • Ensure the security, health and safety of tourists and staff. • Monitoring income and expenditure on a monthly basis and ensure that deviations from approved budgets is kept in check. Compilation and management of budget for own section. • Keeping relevant visitor statistics and monitoring and reporting on the general trends affecting the Park. • Managing of outsourced facilities to ensure that they operate at acceptable standards. • Supervision and development of own staff that includes the planning of work schedules, evaluation of work and determining of training requirements. • Assist with the development of new tourism products and the marketing of the Park and its facilities. • Liaising with the local and regional Tourism authorities and representing the Park at Tourism Forums. Requirements: • A tertiary qualification in tourism management with a minimum of two years relevant experience or Level 12 plus 7 years relevant management experience. • Proficient in English and Afrikaans. • Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills. • A valid driver’s license. • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package and Room Seeker Reservations system. • Sound financial background. • Good written and verbal communication. |
