The London Wetland Centre is looking recruit a hands-on individual to assist with the maintenance of all aspects of the grounds and public areas at the Centre, with particular responsibility for horticultural activities and some aviculture. You will be responsible for all horticultural aspects and exhibits as well as assist with the wildfowl collection, carry out health checks, repair timber bridges and fences and maintain the ponds and lakes. The ability to operate machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations is an essential part of the role.
Previous experience of garden and/or estates, Zoo management is required in order to originate ideas to assist with the centre’s exhibit management and pen design. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent you will ideally possess a qualification in horticultural management. A National Certificate in Horticulture is essential.
