Groundwork London delivers horticultural qualifications to people as part of funded work programmes with our partners. The Horticulture Tutor plays a central role in the delivery of the required learning and skills development and assessments supporting participants during their journey to qualifications. This role sits within our London Employment & Skills Team currently supports over 1,500 unemployed individuals with a view to them re-joining the salaried workforce. Contracts cover all ages and abilities and so variety is guaranteed in this exciting role. We are looking for a skilled and experienced tutor to deliver accredited horticulture courses and training within one-to-one and group delivery formats, ensuring the support provided assists and motivates unemployed adults to achieve qualifications and become employment ready. Reporting to the Operations Manager of Employment & Skills, this is a varied role that ranges from identifying, planning, managing and delivering a diverse programme of soft landscaping, grounds maintenance and woodland management projects to leading a team of trainees. Key requirements: Please contact us if you have:
- Recognised teaching and industry qualification or have substantial proven industry experience
- A high level of motivation and be interested in supporting learners and trainees to reach their desired goal
- Flexibility in your working week and be prepared to be a team player
- Experience in leading a team to achieve targets set by funders e.g. DWP or other funders
- An IQA qualification would be an advantage although training through CPD for the right individual will be considered
