Purpose of post will be to locate and monitor hen harrier activity on reserve followed by 24 hour nest protection if nesting takes place. In absence of nesting harriers post holder would assist with monitoring of other upland species such as merlin, short-eared owl, ring ouzel, black grouse etc.No qualifications required but good general natural history knowledge, specifically knowledge of upland bird species and habitats needed.Desirable - experience of team working, species protection, hill skills - navigation and experience of working in uplands.
