This is the world’s leading supplier of underground mining equipment with a turnover of over $1.5 billion, and employing nearly 6,000 people worldwide.
It is recruiting a health and safety professional to maintain and build on the excellent health and safety culture that it already has. In this role you will be responsible for its Pinxton and Wigan locations, and also provide occasional support to some overseas locations. The successful candidate will ideally be:
- qualified to NEBOSH Diploma standard although candidates working towards or willing to work towards this qualification will also be considered
- experienced at working in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- able to demonstrate a good understanding and/or a working knowledge of OSHSAS 18001
- experience in IS0 14001 and ISO 9001/2000 is also desirable as is also expertise in Risk Assessments and experience in environmental management
In this role you will be expected to carry out site inspections, audits, risk assessments, accident investigations and provide support and advice to all sectors of the business including workshops, service engineers and office staff. You will also manage the PPE system, ensure all renewable health and safety training is completed in a timely manner and ensure sub-contractors comply with legislation when working on site.
The successful applicant should have the ability to liaise and communicate safety matters at all levels and be able to contribute to the development of group safety policies and their implementation. You should also be computer literate and demonstrate competence in Microsoft applications. Training will be provided for in-house systems. Some travel is required, which may also include overseas facilities.
