Head of Solar PV System Design, Florida

My client is a well-established provider of solar photovoltaic modules and turnkey systems. Instead of outsourcing their design and installation activities to contractors they are looking to hire a permanent member of staff to focus on the turnkey solar systems business which operates in the commercial and municipal markets primarily and also some residential customers.

Your responsibilities will be:

• To take bespoke orders from the Sales Team and design individual solar PV systems for installation by the company
• To advise potential customers of various design options open to them
• To address any technical anomalies accordingly
• Ensuring that all designs, however bespoke, meet a certain high level of quality
• To provide training where necessary to installation engineers in order to ensure that the design specification is closely followed.

Skills and qualifications needed:

• Good understanding of AC/DC conversion
• Strong background in electrical engineering particularly on power systems and especially in solar PV power, and a degree (bachelors or masters) in electrical engineering
• Good knowledge of financing solutions for solar PV in Connecticut
• Excellent training and coaching skills
• Good client facing and presentation experience
• Ability to think outside the box and be creative in problem solving
