Purpose and scope of the role:
The Head of Sales is responsible for all aspects of client sourcing, relationship development, proposal development and deal closure for Carbon Trust Implementation Services (CTIS). The role will work closely alongside the Managing Director to develop strategic partnerships and lead channels.
CTIS is a commercial subsidiary of the Carbon Trust, launched in April 2011. It supports mid cap and large businesses to develop and implement energy efficiency strategies across their own operations and throughout their supply chain. Services include:
Energy site surveys to help customers identify where energy savings can be made
Business case and investment appraisals to help customers demonstrate the benefits of investing in energy efficiency
Sourcing of high quality and competitive suppliers of energy efficient equipment
Flexible and affordable financing in the forms of leases, loans and hire purchase, designed to be offset by energy savings (provided by our finance partner, Siemens Financial Services)
Main duties and responsibilities:
Development and execution of pipeline generation strategies including direct marketing approaches as well as establishing sales channels and partnerships
Conversion of sales pipeline to meet CTIS revenue targets
Client acquisition and development with other Carbon Trust business units
Develop and lead sales resources within CTIS as well as co-ordination with other Carbon Trust sales teams
Promotion of CTIS in the marketplace
Delivery of significant PR activity, promoting the business to customer groups, trade bodies and at other public events
Liaison with our finance partner, Siemens Financial Services, including the integration of both marketing plans and joint marketing activities
Key skills:
Results driven, profit oriented sales and marketing professional
Proven track record of revenue growth in B2B markets through both direct marketing and partnership strategies
Ability to develop new sales approaches and product/service evolution
Excellent communication and presentation skills - confidence in public speaking and press interviews
Preferably engineering background with experience in technology sales
Core skills in team management, development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies
Relishes challenges, adopting an innovative, disciplined and logical approach
Projects the gravitas that comes with experience and has the presence to inspire others to achieve outstanding performance both as individuals and as a team
Qualifications and experience:
Significant in-depth technical B2B sales experience with proven track record in meeting targets
Energy efficiency or technology experience desirable but not essential
First degree or equivalent - ideally in numerate or commercial subject
