Description

My client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions throughout America and Europe. As their business is going through a stage of rapid expansion, they seek a proven solar project financer with a track record in the raising of capital, investments, sales, winning utilities contracts to oversee all their project financing of utility-scale solar projects.

Core criteria:

They are currently looking for a senior level project financing executive based in California to raise equity and utilise their contacts in the market to secure financing for utility-scale solar projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Head up the project development team responsible for the origination, development and sales of international utility-scale solar projects up to financial close
  • Responsible for originating, structuring and closing financing deals for the utility-scale solar projects
  • You will be required to lead negotiations and close deals with banks, equity firms and outside investors
  • Source and scout sites within the renewable energy market in an attempt to determine the return from investment
  • Work with outside agencies on the in order to develop appropriate contracts and legal material for the financing of the projects
  • Utilising your skills in risk analysis within solar PV projects
  • You will utilize your strong negotiation, financial modelling and contract skills in order to ensure the raising of equity for the renewable energy projects.
  • Equity raising and project sale negotiations
  • Project development, acquisition strategy and external advisors coordination
  • Identify, assess and create project development opportunities
  • Conduct market analysis and feasibility and risk assessment studies on a daily basis
  • Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements; securing grid connections and building permits
  • Proactively sourcing new potential sites for development to grow the business
  • Project negotiations (with diverse project partners like local developers, IPPs or utilities)
  • PV market
  • Ensure all deals meet revenue and margin expectations
  • Proactively sourcing new projects to grow the business
  • Supervise and oversee all commercial matters

Education:

Must have strong finance background

Core Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of key tax issues with different deal structures is preferred
  • 5-10 years working on project finance or private equity in the renewable energy market
  • A proven track record of closing deals and sustaining relationships in the market
  • Recent experience working in the Solar PV sector or other renewable energies
  • Excellent ability in developing client relationships with the contacts within the financial industry
  • Experience working on an international level
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Critical assessment and due diligence of investment opportunities

  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent contacts within banking and equity investment
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
  • Excellent presentation

Key skills:

Renewable energy, strong finance background, large-scale PV projects, team leadership and a good experience in project financing.
