We are looking for a permanent Head of Programme to oversee our Conserving Land and Seascapes Programme (CLS). This key position, reporting to the Head of Operations, will lead a team working to deliver the Centres longstanding and highly regarded work on marine and protected areas, including the flagship projects Protected Planet and Ocean+, provision of significant input into a range of international processes including the BBNJ process, the post2020 biodiversity framework, as well support to the private sector. You will hold a postgraduate qualification (MSc or higher) in biological or environmental sciences, social science, geography or a related discipline together with a contemporary understanding of biodiversity in an international context and an extensive network in the conservation community. You will be experienced at motivating and leading a team to ensure the effective functioning of a multi-faceted, results-focused programme operating at the interface between biodiversity science, policy and management. Furthermore, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, an understanding of the essential characteristics of successful partnership-building and will be able to demonstrate the ability to capture external resources and to work collaboratively. We will provide you with the challenge of working on high profile conservation projects, where your work really makes a difference to the field of conservation in an area aligned to our strategic aims and broader global initiatives.
