Starting salary: £55,550

Contract: 35 hours, Temporary position (ending 31 March 2025)

Location: Scotland, flexible (Home and hybrid working will be considered)

The post will play a leading role in driving forward our high profile work on peatland restoration. The core accountability for the role is to lead delivery of our multi-million pound Peatland Action programme, currently in the order of £10m per annum.

The Head of Peatland Operations will lead delivery of our target for peatland restoration, as well as being responsible for scaling up peatland restoration to meet increased targets in order to meet Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan commitment to restore 250,000ha by 2030.

This is a new role to provide dedicated senior leadership and focus on operational delivery. The postholder will work closely with the existing Head of Peatland Strategy who will lead on strategic and tactical development for our programme of peatland restoration.

While this is a temporary post, with Scottish Government’s commitment to spend £250m over the next ten years on peatland restoration.
