My client is an industrial recycling business based in the West Midlands,  they have enjoyed a strong period of growth over the past 2 years and are now looking for a Head of Maintenance to maintain and improve the efficiency of their plant equipment.  Due to increasing pressure on businesses to recycle waste products this business is set to continue growing and so offers excellent career development opportunities.

Position Overview:

You will be responsible for a team of mechanical engineers and will look for different ways of improving reliability and efficientcy.  Most of the electrical work is outsourced however an appreciation for electical engineering as well as mechanical would be beneficial although not essential.  The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy plant environments.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Management of the mechanical engineering team
  • ·         Preventative and reactive maintenance
  • ·         Manage sub contract electrical engineers
  • ·         Be on call for plant emergencies

Education:-

  • ·         Minimum HNC  in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Core Requirements:-

  • At least 5 years relevant work experience working with heavy plant equipment
  • Experience of managing teams of mechanical engineers
  • ·         Experience managing sub contractors

General Requirements:-

  • ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation
  • ·         Ability to work under pressure
  • ·         Extensive experience in mechanical engineering
