The Global Account Management function creates the potential for exceptional opportunities for producers, and provides support for the growth of Fairtrade in consumer markets around the world. The GAM operating procedure document outlines the process and provides operational direction for the roll out of the GAM initiative. The nature and structure of Fairtrade as a movement and how it strategically engages with trans-national companies, creates specific challenges that have to be overcome in order to maximize the potential benefits for producers in the most effective and efficient manner. The work of GAM has impact on and is impacted by, every Fairtrade operation in FLO e.V., FLO-CERT, the LI's and Producer Networks. For this reason, GAM will interact both with the LI’s through a steering group of nominated cluster members and internally with all departments within FLO, via interaction between the GAM director and the leadership team. Collaboration will also be effected through a Lead LI account management principle and the various skill based task force assemblies that will be put in place as opportunities unfold. This post will take a lead role in running accounts, planning and preparing work programmes and budgets, coordinating with LI’s and liaising with internal FLO representatives and external agencies to roll out effective operational work streams. The work will therefore involve relationship building with both new and existing accounts as well as external NGO’s and other relevant agencies. The post will involve some international travel.
