Head of installations, London, UK

My client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions throughout America and Europe. As their business is going through a stage of rapid expansion, they seek an experienced installer of solar PV systems with a proven track record of high quality, team leading and technical knowledge.

Position Overview: You will join a California based company that is expanding in the UK and lead their team of installers on that installation of solar PV systems

Responsibilities:

• You will work on the installation of on small and large scale projects
• Manage a rapidly expanding team of installers and work closely with the Managing director to ensure that targets are being met
• Carry out inspection and testing on domestic properties
• Carry out minor repairs/upgrades and full rewires.
• Fitting rails/feet and solar panels to clients roofs.
• Designed PV system from preliminary steps to completion for commercial projects; single-line diagram, inverter selection, electrical layouts, short circuit analysis, modules and strings calculation with wire selection and protection system
• Setting up of any additional equipment required.
• Negotiate and evaluate bid packages and sub-contract agreements
• Optimized module choice and roof filling factors depends on sun position of the year and tilted angle of PV modules
• Analyse life cycle cost (LCC) for PV systems by considering technical, geographical and meteorological factors

Education:

Strong educational background in Engineering (MSc preferred)

Core Requirements:

• At least 4-5 years relevant technical experience
• A proven track record within the solar PV sector
• Excellent problem solving skills

• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and detect realistic solutions

• You will have the technical qualifications required by UK law

General Requirements:

• Ability to travel with the UK

• Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
• Excellent presentation

Key skills:

Renewable energy, strong installation experience with small and large-scale PV installations
