Head of Finance - Indonesia (Full-Time / 1 Year Fixed-Contract)

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.

ZSL Indonesia is looking for a Head of Finance to assist the Deputy Country Director in managing the finance team as well as provides daily oversight of the activities of the financial staff, including review and approvals for daily transactions. They will assist with developing and managing internal financial audits and will work closely with the project team, the donor, the government and the Finance team in London.

 The successful candidate will be based in Bogor, West Java with limited travel to our field offices in Palembang and Jambi. 

• Lead in overseeing overall financial management and provide necessary insights for compliance and improvement;
• Provide direction and coordination of effective budget development and management;
• Ensure integrity of accounting information by reviewing account issues for compliance;
• Provide recommendations and consult with management on financial projects and compliance;
• Oversee the performance of accurate reporting procedures and timely submission of reports to relevant stakeholders;
• Work closely with ZSL Head Quarters on financial management and accounting system issues;
• Effectively manage talent. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, and complete performance management for direct reports.
• Lead all financial audit processes;
• Work closely with Human Resources and Administration Manager to ensure that procurement, logistic and administration procedures and processes are in line with ZSL and donor financial and procurement regulation;
• Ensure that personnel policies are adhered to in all employment practices;
• Monitor and control project fund management in order to ensure project finance run with ‘Value for Money’ principles.

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in financial management and in similar position.
• Experience in handling complex non-profit funds, grant and management accounting.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Indonesian.
• Knowledge of Indonesian Tax Law.
• Able to deal with tight schedule and unscheduled tasks and target oriented.
