My client  is an award winning provider of environmental consultancy to corporate and government clients. They provide ideas, specialist knowledge and solutions to secure food and enhance the environment.  Their strength lies in our ability to provide clients with an unparalleled range of objective, science-based information, advice and implementation services.  They are seeking a senior individual with a proven track record of delivering energy and resource efficiency consultancy. The candidate will lead the technical development of services provided to clients, and will identify and secure new business opportunities

 

Responsibilities:-

 

  • Lead the technical development and delivery energy and resource efficiency services to clients
  • Responsible for ensuring sales and revenue targets for energy and resource efficiency services are met
  • Management of a small team of corporate energy/resource efficiency advisers and working with other managers/teams to develop efficient processes and systems for the effective delivery of farm based resource efficiency consultancy
  • Working closely with the key account projects to promote the resource efficiency services and develop new business within those accounts
  • Monitor key sectors including competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
  • Liaise with members of the sustainability team to develop a detailed strategy for the marketing and promotion of their sustainability services 
  • Oversee quality control on resource efficiency projects
  • Build personal profile and develop their reputation within this area and manage reputational risk
  • Project direction on major and multi-factorial contracts
  • Lead the development and expansion of the Energy and Resource Efficiency team
  • Co-ordinate the development of energy efficiency and resource efficiency offer for both public sector and private sector clients
  • Develop their services including energy and resource audits and added value services such as engineering solutions including linking to renewable energy and waste management services
  • Work closely with the food production and supply chain delivery team to develop the resource efficiency product
  • Develop new pricing and delivery models appropriate for targeted markets
  • Good relationship management with key stakeholders
  • Identify, develop and manage positive effect strategic alliances with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Expand the policy consultancy offer into the field of energy and resource efficiency
  • Identify professional accreditations for relevant delivery staff
  • Identify future training needs, tools and appropriate techniques

 

Requirements:-

 

  • Good understanding of policy, economic instruments, initiatives and business drivers for resource efficiency
  • Must have strong educational background (MSc Engineering or related field desirable)
  • Management experience at chartered engineer level preferred
  • Experienced team leader used to developing effective high performing teams
  • Must be able to manage and coordinate complex delivery programmes
  • Strong track record of delivering energy and resource efficiency consultancy aligned with business development and sales
  • Strong analytical, report writing and verbal presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly complex concepts to a range of stakeholders
  • Industry experience in agriculture or food would be an advantage
