Description
WWF’s field programmes and campaigns are broad in their scope, from community-based use of natural resources to engaging business and industry; from tackling climate change to reducing our ecological footprint.

We are creating increasingly ambitious solutions to the planet’s most serious environmental challenges so that people and nature thrive.  Achieving change on the scale we require is complex, and programmes require a variety of tools to ensure their designs are robust, and their monitoring systems are simple and supportive - identifying progress, outcomes and impact.

Our organisational accountability is extremely important and we need to provide evidence of the changes we create, with empirical data to guide future planning as well as evaluating the effectiveness of current activities.

The Head of the Design and Impact Team will be responsible for leading a small team to advise on good practice, and develop a system to respond to the needs WWF-UK's Programmes Departments, field and campaigns teams.   The Design and Impact Team guides and supports colleagues and develops and tests out tools that can be used in design, monitoring and evaluation. The post-holder will also requires development of a systematic reporting system to allow performance management assessment.

Experience of supporting programme design and policy/advocacy work in the UK and overseas countries is a must, as is experience of monitoring and evaluation in complex situations and global contexts.

Excellent communication, organization and inter-personal skills will be essential in developing a wide range of working relationships and managing a small team towards these objectives.  Occasional overseas travel will be required.
