RenewableUK (formerly BWEA) Grid Policy Manager Salary: £28K - £35K (depending on experience) Contract: Full Time Permanent (initial 12 month contract) Location: Victoria, London A fantastic opportunity to be part of the RenewableUK Policy Team, to solve grid integration challenges and accelerate the growing contribution of wind, wave and tidal energy to decarbonising the UK’s energy and economy. RenewableUK is theUK’s leading renewable energy association with over 670 company members. Formed 31 years ago, RenewableUK is at the forefront of the development of theUK’s wind, wave and tidal stream energy industries, representing the sector at a senior level to Government, stakeholders, business, media and the public. RenewableUK is seeking a highly motivated, technically capable and well organised candidate to work in the Policy Team under the Head of Grid and Regulatory Affairs to develop and deliver the Association’s strategic aims and objectives for the integration of wind and renewables within the electricity grid. The role will cover technical, regulatory, policy, commercial and scenario aspects which may either ease or hinder the development of wind, wave and tidal energy. The post holder will be tasked with managing RenewableUK’s interaction and communication with members, particularly the Offshore Grid Group, Grid Strategy Group and members on the Grid Interest List, so that you will work with and learn from industry’s leading proponents and experts. With growing experience you will represent the Association in discussions with Government (DECC), Regulator (Ofgem), Transmission and Distribution Companies, other stakeholders and other trade associations. Educated to degree or post grad level you will have at least 3 years relevant work experience with a background in renewable energy, electrical engineering or energy regulation a distinct advantage. Key qualities will be your ability to grasp the complex regulatory, technical and commercial background; assimilate, analyse and synthesise members’ contributions; draft and develop coherent policy; and write, present and clearly articulate the Association’s position in reports, presentations and industry meetings.
