Description

Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward looking Green Space team.

By engaging with the public the successful candidate will ensure our parks and green spaces are welcoming, safe and well used by all. You will support local community and business Green Space volunteering initiatives. You will also promote the health benefits of our Green Spaces and work with local communities to encourage more people to improve their health by using them.

Responsibilities include supporting the Green Space management team to manage licences and leases for refreshment and other concessions, access licences, our commemorative bench scheme, sports bookings and allotments; look for opportunities to introduce new or add value to existing services and facilities provided in Camden’s Green Spaces; and work with the police and our community safety partners to reduce anti-social behaviour across our sites.

As a Green Space Partnership Officer you will be expected to work one weekend per month.  As the service requires you may also be required to work evenings and additional weekends.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the successful candidate will have previous demonstrable experience in a similar post, particularly working with a wide range of stakeholders including volunteers, local community groups and residents, council staff, contractors and the Police to achieve positive outcomes for a specific site or local community. You will have a full clean driving licence, excellent written and presentation skills including experience of preparation of reports, briefings, minutes of meetings and promotional material, and ideally a first aid certificate.
