Description

America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a well-organized intern at our National Headquarters in Charlestown NH. This internship will support the day-to-day tasks of running the SCA/NBC Green Your School Contest.  The Green Your School Contest is a national competition to stimulate and /or identify conservation service projects designed by high school students that improve, restore, beautify or conserve their school environment.  Please visit www.thesca.org/green-your-school to learn more about the contest.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing contest submissions
  • Coordinate contest judging
  • Answering all questions from submitters or prospective submitters
  • Help promote the contest through social networking and other sites
  • Manage the post-event toolkit
  • Implementing other Green Your School Contest tasks as need arises

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in SCA’s mission to provide hands-on conservation opportunities for young people
  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Comfortable with electronic communication and web
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter
  • Highly-organized
  • Sense of humor is always a plus

Internship Dates: August through December, 2009. Dates flexible to accommodate academic schedule.

Hours: 15/week

Compensation: $10/hour plus reimbursement for gas to/from Charlestown
